NEWS RELEASE….July 12, 2010 - 5:30PM
The Willis Avenue Bridge was successfully transported across the yard at the Port of Coeymans Marine Terminal and loaded onto the barge which will transport the bridge to New York City. The bridge and barges are scheduled to depart the Port of Coeymans Marine Terminal between 3:00AM and 7:00AM on Tuesday, July 13, 2010. Unfortunately at this point, we cannot be more specific in pinpointing the time. This is a very intricate move and is influenced by many factors, both known and unknown.
The speed of the transport is also contingent upon many factors, including but not limited to, weather and wind, tide, and general water conditions.
We will update this site early on Tuesday morning to give you any information that we can. We do ask that you understand the nature of the project and all of the variables that can influence the move.
